A good power supply is essential for a solid PC system. Ideally, you want something that is very efficient and also doesn’t create much noise, without being too expensive. A while ago Hardware.Info published an extensive round-up of 43 power supplies in the 500-700 watt range. At the time Be Quiet had not yet put the finishing touches on its new Dark Power Pro 10 product line, but now it’s finally time to see what Be Quiet has up its sleeve. Hardware.Info took a closer look at Be Quiet’s 550-watt model. The Be Quiet Dark Power Pro 10 550W is 80 Plus Gold certified, which means it should be very energy-efficient. Hardware.Info recorded an average efficiency of 90 percent, and that is simply outstanding for a 550-watt power supply in this price range.
Be Quiet Dark Power Pro 10 550W: noise levels
In terms of noise levels, this Be Quiet PSU did not produce any sound above the ambient sound levels in Hardware.Info’s test lab. This is a completely silent PSU, in other words. The 550-watt Dark Power Pro 10 is a modular power supply, and comes with very solid connectors. You get 7 molex and 9 SATA connectors in the box. For graphics cards you get four 6/8-pin PEG connectors and a 6-pin connector, so five in total. That’s a lot for a 550W power supply, and all of the modular cables are individually sleeved. The Be Quiet Dark Power Pro P10 is an excellent 550-watt power supply, for all the ins and outs about this PSU head over to the in-depth review on Hardware.Info.
