When will Burnout Paradise Remastered be released?
Following the initial announcement of EA’s first remaster in February 2018, the company confirmed that Burnout Paradise Remastered will be available to users around the world on 16 March 2018. That’s not too far away! We do have some bad news though; while the remaster of the hugely popular driving game is set to be available for PS4 and Xbox One (with 4K@60fps support on PS4 Pro and Xbox One X), the same can’t be said for PC gamers – not initially, anyway. EA has confirmed that a PC port for the remastered game is in the works, but that it wouldn’t be available until later on in 2018. Thankfully, it’s not platform exclusive, meaning both PS4 and Xbox One users will be able to buy it upon release.
Where can I pre-order Burnout Paradise Remastered?
Despite only being announced recently, Burnout Paradise Remastered is already available to pre-order both in the UK and US from popular retailers. Those that want to cause havoc on Xbox One can pre-order a copy from not only Game (£34.99) but also the Microsoft Store (£34.99). It’s a similar story for those that want to race on PS4; it’s available from Game (£34.99) and Sony’s PlayStation Store (£34.99) at a similar price. If you want it a little cheaper, you can also pick the game up from ShopTo for both PS4 and Xbox One for only £32.86. Those in the US have the option of pre-ordering from Best Buy ($39.99), or the relevant online store ($39.99). Those looking to pre-order the PC variant of Burnout Paradise Remastered aren’t so lucky; while the game is definitely coming to PC, it won’t land until much later in the year and as such, pre-orders are yet to appear online.
What should I expect from Burnout Paradise Remastered?
The biggest question is; what should I expect from Burnout Paradise Remastered? How is it different from the original game that came out 10 years ago? By referencing press materials and the initial announcement trailer showcased in February, it looks like we’ll be getting the old-school Burnout Paradise experience and much, much more. Burnout Paradise Remastered offers the original base game full of carnage, explosions and adrenaline-inducing races along with eight pieces of DLC released during the “Year of Paradise”, completely free of charge. The DLC includes an extension of the map, providing racers access to Big Surf Island. It’s not all about content though; EA has worked hard to bring the game up to speed technically too. Tweaking the mechanics of the game, Burnout Paradise Remastered should offer enhanced graphics that includes high-res textures and 4K@60fps support for PS4 Pro and Xbox One X users.
