Just Cause 4: Release date
Square Enix confirmed during Microsoft’s E3 2018 showcase that Just Cause 4 is set to be released on 4 December 2018, and is set to be released on PS4, Xbox One and PC. Just in time for some explosive festive fun!
Just Cause 4: Trailers
Following the reveal trailer, featured at the top of the page, Square Enix released a follow-up trailer in September, giving us our first look at Rico’s toughest opponent yet; Gabriella Morales, the leader of the infamous Black Hand Organisation.
Just Cause 4: Gameplay
Rico Rodriguez is back in the fictional South American world of Solis, and once again, it’s time to blow some sh*t up. This time around, Rico is leading a revolution against a high-tech private military organisation named Black Hand, and they mean business. The explosive world of Solis is more vibrant and alive than ever, partly due to the introduction of different biomes and a reactive weather system. The game is set to offer four biomes – Rainforest, Grasslands, Alpine and Desert – each with a distinct look and unique simulated weather events that include incredible towering tornadoes and booming tropical lightning storms. The map is huge too; 1024 square kilometres, to be precise. These weather events can be your friend or foe; will you perish in the strong winds of a tornado, or will you use a combination of your trusty wingsuit, parachute and grappling hook to gain some serious speed and height? It’s down to you to utilise the ever-changing environment present in Just Cause 4 and, as ever, creativity is encouraged.
“The introduction of Extreme Weather is a complete game changer – players will not have seen anything like this in a videogame. We have created fully physicalized tornadoes, blizzards, sandstorms and torrential downpours which affect gameplay in a very real way,” Francesco Antolini, Game Director at Avalanche Studios said in a press release. As mentioned, you’ll have access to the wingsuit, parachute and grappling hook introduced in Just Cause 3 to traverse the gorgeous, detailed world. But, unlike in the previous game, you’ll now be able to customise your grappling hook with brand new capabilities. You’ll be able to create unique stunts and new methods of destruction that play to the strengths of your play style, making sure you get as much out of Just Cause 4 and the upgraded Apex engine as possible. All this suggests that Just Cause 4 is going to be the most immersive, enjoyable and explosive game in the series so far, and we can’t wait to get our hands on it later this year.
