Scalebound platforms: Which platforms will Scalebound be available on?
Scalebound was originally going to be an Xbox One exclusive; RPG fans should be pleased to ear that. However when the developers took to the stage during the Microsoft press conference at E3 2016, an interesting announcement was made – the game was now also going to be available for PC users on Windows 10. That’s not all though, as purchasing it on one platform would make it available on both as part of the new Xbox Play Anywhere program. It also means that progress will be carried over between the two variants, allowing you to pick up where you left off on either platform. Also read: Play Xbox games before they are released
Scalebound gameplay
Update 24/06/2016: Platinum Games took to the stage during Microsoft’s E3 2016 showcase to show off a brand new gameplay demo, which can be found at the top of this article. Drew and Thuban are the protagonists of Scalebound. Drew is a young loner. He is a common guy and like many of his age he wears headphones and feels invincible. However, Drew has something special, his arm is like the paw of a dragon and has the same type of scales as Thuban. Thuban is a lone dragon, the last of his kind. Drew and Thuban find themselves in the cryptic universe of Draconis. Behind its green grass and blue sky, a mystic energy flows through every pieces of this land, The Pulse. The Pulse runs energy through giant mushrooms and tree branches, making them coming to life. Drew and Thuban’s relationship is at the core of Scalebound and is what gives to Scalebound its special flavour. You will get to play Drew, but this doesn’t mean that Thuban will be a distant character or under your complete control. You’ll need to get to know your companion, built a relationship with him and let Thuban to trust you. Only when Thuban will feel confident enough, he will let you ride himself. Thuban is also quite independent, he won’t necessarily follow your orders and you won’t be able to predict his actions. However, to win the war, feeling is not enough. You’ll need also to arm your mate and upgrade his ability to fight. You can customize Thuban through the orbits that you’ll collect after winning a combat. Your life and the life of Thuban are inextricably bound. If one dyes, the other dyes as well. Scalebound will also feature four players co-op. Each player will have his own fearsome companion and will get to fight with the others against Draconis’ evil empire. Scalebound is a full-scale nonlinear game that we find really promising. Its storyline is absorbing and developers Platinum Games are famous for thrilling combats. We are really curious to see if Scalebound will match our expectations. For now, we can just hold our breath and dream about our fire-exhaling buddy. You’ll also like: PS4 vs Xbox One comparison
